Top British Beaches

Porthcurno, near Land’s End, Cornwall

Perhaps the country’s most beautiful bay, this National Trust owned beach was created by centuries of ground seashells. Located not far from the end of the world (well England) Porthcurno beach offers not a stunning sandy beach, but the colour of the blue sea is incredible. You could easily mistake it for a Caribbean beach.

Crosby Beach, Merseyside

Escape the city of Liverpool, and head to the three-mile-long beach of Crosby. Not your ordinary beach, as dotted along the coastline you’ll find Anthony Gormley’s “Another Place”, a collection of human-like statues all staring out to sea.

Watergate Bay, Newquay

Situated around 3 miles from Newquay and stretching for over 2 miles at the base of steep cliffs is this treasure. Like most of Newquay’s beaches, it’s popular with families and surfers.

Sandwood Bay, Cape Wrath, Sutherland

This remote mile long beach is arguably Scotland’s best and certainly one of the best British beaches. The beach is owned and managed by the John Muir Trust and if you fancy the four and a half mile walk from Blairmore, it’s definitely worth it.
